Roadmap 2026
Hello everyone,
It is again the time for one of the rare “AIG Roadmaps”. As many of you know we do not often talk “longterm development” when it comes to our software tools, but today is one of those rare moments.
But first some word on the recent news that have shaken up the MSFS AI Traffic world:
The “shutdown” of the FlightRadar24 API has no effect on AIG and the releases of new flightplan updates. The data source of AIG is provided by subscription-based data providers we pay to get the data.
In today’s roadmap I will highlight some features that will come soon to AI Manager and some features I am planning to add to Traffic Controller with the next set of updates.
AIGFleet
AIGFleet is a new feature for users that use OCI installed content with other injectors/traffic sources. At the moment all repaints are strictly connected to an installed flightplan. Those flightplans are only updated every year (in many cases even longer). During this time an airline can introduce a new airplane-type or livery. The “old” way would have required a complete update of the flightplan, which takes time. The new AIGFleet feature allows users to “upgrade” a already installed airline (Models and Liveries) to a newer version without updating the actual traffic schedule. We hope that this new feature will bring special repaints faster into the Simulator for those users that do not use the file-based traffic injection.
AIG OCI-Basepack
A very long requested feature is close to release. With the basepack we will provide for the first time a single ZIP package for basic installation. The basepack will contain the same content as the currently available Global-Preset in OCI. Users will be able to download the basepack and use it right away via AIM, it will be up to them to add more airlines later via AIM if they want.
We plan to update the basepack twice a year (after each season), but we recommend existing users to update the already installed content via AIM’s internal update to avoid downloading already existing stuff.
GroundOps
Traffic Controller users know this feature already for AI airplanes. I want to expend this slowly to the user airplane as well. Staring with General Aviation VIP services and later for commercial airliners (PAX). Since GroundOps fully relies on the default ingame services and content it will be a very basic feature with its limits.
Model-Update
The community has been very active in upgrading the existing light effects and we will include those in an upcoming content update. (Previews can be seen on our Discord-Server)
Besides the lights, we plan to add some more upgrades to the models.
The LOD issue has been addressed with ASOBO and they have confirmed that it is caused by the Game itself. They have provided some workarounds, and we are in the process of checking if any of those are possible on our end.
