Not sure if this is the right place, but would it be possible to sort the files by region? Like North America, Europe, etc? I don't typically fly to Europe and would love to just install AI in North America only, but don't really have the urge to go through every individual line to find them.

not possible, but we work on something else to help regional installations

The reason why AIM can't do it, is because it don't know abything about the flightplan, until it reads the flightplan. So when you open AIM and sees there are new plans, the program don't know where these plans are located in the world, and therefore can't place them in a region. So if the program read that there is a Air France plan, it doesn't know if it's in US, Europe or Asia. Only when the plan has been downloaded and the plan is being installed, the program knows where it's located. But before that it's impossible to do any area specific sorting.

And then you also get the question. What about airlines flying in Europe or Asia and flying to North America at the same time. Should they be included as airlines flying in the NA area or should they be included as European or Asian airlines. Let's continue with Air France, flying in both Europe, North America, South America Asia and Africa.. Which one should it be categorized as? If it was categorized as European, then it would not be installed as a North American and so on.

It's a thing that has been requested multiple times, but sadly as Kai says it's impossible to do because of the reason above.

In this instance, yeah, AFR would be in the list of European airlines. But I'm not saying have one download for everything Euro. The program already allows a sort by Name or Airline/GA, so add a sort function by that. In that case, then it's easier for one like myself to pick the Euro airlines out of that list to install for international airports. Saves time from searching for each individual airline.

I mean hey, if it's not possible, it's not possible. Never hurts to ask anyways haha

When the program loads, it downloads a list of names of airlines. But not where they are flying. That only happens when the individual plan is downloaded to be installed. So it's impossible to do, sadly.

And yes. it doesn't hurt to ask, and you got an answer that might not be the one you were hoping for. But it's better than no answer :)
