Title: AIG Releases the Boeing 757-200!
Post by: Ben on March 27, 2008, 07:20:18 PM
The Alpha India Group is proud to release the Boeing 757-200 as our first aircraft for AI traffic. Standard features include XML coded flaps for takeoff/landing, animated thrust reversers/flaps/slats/spoilers, as well as compressing landing gear. Also included are optional settings for exhaust smoke and Shockwave lights.

You can find LOD data under the Technic menu on the website, and download links of the models and paints under Spray.

We hope you enjoy our first aircraft release!

I followed TACV on landing at Sal.
The animations (Flaps, Airbrakes, etc.) are really nice to see.

Well done guys.

Francois.

Great!

Three things:
1. NWA has two door configs for the non-winglet 752's
2. Will there be any FSX door configs released?
3. WoAI?

Bravo Zulu AIG!

Many Thanks to the AIG Team for an excellent model and all those outstanding repaints!

It looks like AIG is off to a great start!

I'll check with Andrew when I see him next to find out if he is doing the different NWA door configurations. I don't think we have reached a consensus on FSX yet; and I'm pretty sure we're working on the WofAI angle.
Hope this helps!

Hi

Thanks a lot to everyone involved on this for a superb model.  Superb to see the answer as to where Janik is. I am currently spending a couple of months away from home, so I guess I will have a lot of work to do on my FS when I get back !

Great work.  Keep it up, please !

All the best

Hello!

Wow!  I am really very impressed with your new 757-200, which, to my mind,
is the far best looking ai aircraft ever made.

I particularly enjoy it, since the 757-200 is my favorite of all jets,
so I already installed them and tested. SUPERB! :)
Please make lots of repaints; I am sure I will use them in my sim.

Again, thanks a million and keep up your good work!

Thanks guys, love the airplane. The ARD 75 was a great airplane, but it was definetely starting to show its age with the "square LEs".

Being that I paint more than I play, do you think you will be a realeasing a paintkit for this beauty?

I would like to ask AIG for giving support to WOAI and granted permission for them using AIG 757 model.

 >:( Chris.

You are not allowed to ask such questions for us. You are not part of the WOAI team at all. If you don't mind we do such things ourselfs.

1.All the registrations with wing exits have winglets now according to my sources.
2.Maybe
3.Yes!

Great model!! but I find a couple of issue: the first affects just the winglet model, I'm talking about the contact points of the wheels. As the non-winglet model is not affected by this, I think that a copy-and-paste is enough to fix.
The second regards the engines intake texture: seems that the upper part are not mapped.

Have you installed the AIG_FanShadow.bmp in your main FS texture folder?

The engines intake are mapped. A common texture (that is provided) has to be placed into the FS Main Texture folder.

From the readme that came with the model:

Quote
1 - Copy the AIG_FanShadow.bmp texture file into your main FS texture folder.
2 - Copy the AIG_B757-200 folder into your main aircraft folder.
3 - If you already have exhaust smoke and Shockwave strobe/light effects
installed, we have included an optional aircraft.cfg file with the correct
settings preloaded. Simply replace the default aircraft.cfg with the
    optional one.

If you have FSX then there are some problems with common textures. You need to install a texture.cfg file into the texture folder. To work with the root texture folder, use this
Code: [Select]
[fltsim]
fallback.1=texture
Hope this helps!

Can you please explain in detail? Where do you need to place that texture.cfg file - in every B757 texture folder, in the B757 aircraft folder or in the root texture folder? Thanks in advance!

Says it all. Dropping the texture file in the main texture folder does not work in FSX on its own.

I wonder if you can put the AIG_FanShadow.bmp (1.07 KB) in each folder instead of a 'pointer cfg'. I'll have to try with the A300 EvolveAI_FanShadow.bmp  - I forgot the bmp when I moved it to FSX anyway..

You could do that as well, but it saves storage space to have the cfg. Kbs add up ;)

Looks like I found another bug.. I was checking LIMC Milano airport, but it started to crash when I loaded the sim at Sunday 17:28 LIMC time. So did a loooonger investigation (because when I looked at a certain apron area there were mainly A319 A320 so I thought they were the cause) and it looks like the Air Greenland repaint causes FS to crash, maybe someone else wants to confirm that the repaint is causing the sim to crash.

Best regards,

Phil

Yes I found the Air Greenland 757 caused my sim to CTD as well.

I thought I used a paint from the beta test version and not the download though, but maybe I was wrong.

I think the issue was it was not saved as a 32bit texture so instead of being 4MB its only 3.

Hmm, as said before, I thought one of the A319/20s was playing havoc so I only check those texture(-size). Anyhu, I resaved the Air Greenland with DXT in  still splendid 32bit, and now have "myself" attached to the back of it (with Trafficboard) for a trip from Milano to Copenhagen readytogo.

Best regards,

Phil
