I listened to the 23 minute version and I still can't figure out what the hell they were dealing with. I get they have a flight control problem, and it sounds like at some point it required both pilots pulling on the controls together. What a strange accident, looking forward to the investigation findings. A bit disconcerting that they publish CVR recordings like this, especially since the crew died.  :(

Definitely sounds like they had problems communicating with each other. The Captain sounds quite frustrated at times, almost like they were not sharing the same mental model of what was happening and how to fix it.

It is a little odd indeed, it seems as if the CRM was less than adequate for the situation. I'm not particularly sure, but it seems the Captain was a bit too overbearing, trying to do everything himself and no tasks other than communication were handled by the FO.
