FSX just freezing???
« on: December 20, 2011, 01:05:00 PM »
Hi

I have got AFCAD's files, addon scenery and WOAI addes to my default FSX. Recently it just freezes, especially when I right-click to select "Air Traffic" or to change airport. The hourglass would then appear and I have to restart my entire PC-this is really frustrating! ::mad::
Can anybody perhaps tell me what the problem could be and how I can resolve it?

Thanx
Arno

You got too much addons for that area you are flying in, its not crashing it just takes time to load up.

Lot of help there Eric  :groan:

Have you tried removing some of your addon's and try starting again?
It could be any number if issues that is causing this problem.

I know it's pain in the butt checking each and every addon, but unless you want to keep having issues, you have no choice.

Yes, Eric, I also think that's what he means but that doesn't change the fact that Tom's advice is the right way to go about getting to the root of the problem.

Also, some basic housekeeping on the PC may be needed - clean up/delete temp files, defrag (both best done daily, epsecially if, like me, you use the PC for a lot more than just FS) etc.  It's also possible that one or more of your RAM chips have died, but I would follow Tom's advice before looking into that. ;)
Best regards
