Watching the report i noticed there is an Air India 787 with what looks like a Star Alliance star sticker...weird?!! I read they were suspended from joining the alliance due to not meeting the standards AGAIN! Hmmmmm

I believe that the Air India plane was painted a while ago when they were still cleared for SA.  And according to the forums at Airliners.net there has been talks how Air India is going to pay for these planes.
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

Very true, they arent in a great place at the moment.

Thing is, with the 787, alot of airlines that dont really have "medium" sized aircraft e.g Virgin Atlantic (A330 exeption) and airlines that havent updated their fleets or really cared for "passenger comfort" in years e.g Azerbaijan/Uzbekistan Airlines are investing in this fairly smallish but luxury plane. Obviously its technically defying but still its no cheap bird...maybe im just set in my ways and prefer seeing the bigger boys...enter the 747-8  ;D
