If there is no AI or ATC, then it is just a revamp of MS Flight with a state-of-the-art graphic engine.

I really don't want to be a kill-joy, but folks, this is Microsoft, at the end of the day we always have to swallow a bitter pill.  :heehee:

In other forums people begin to speculate about the end of P3D. This is waaaay too early to tell.
Kind regards, Ronald

I think P3D will stay, as it has always been directed towards flight schools and the flight industry in general. That's what many people forgets. Plus P3D is owned by a different company (LM). So P3D will not go away.

Maybe MSFS will take many of the current P3D and maybe also FSX users, because it's meant for that segment of flightsimmers. But Flight schools and the airline industry is not the in that segment, so they'll keep P3D.

All they said is it's not implemented "yet". This is pre-alpha, after all.

Some info on AI:

- Real World Live AI Traffic (not yet included as objects in game though)

- Real World Ship traffic collected by transponder signals (its planned)

Source? Since both ways are not very usable in offline mode ::confused::

An EAA article about the preview

http://inspire.eaa.org/2019/09/30/an-inside-look-at-microsofts-newest-flight-simulator/?fbclid=IwAR07aHfAQvJQG0AEhfFuFmthLt5GeChn--FSKQclVmJn92piHhG3cWBgY5c

Frooglesim preview video

Neither of these seems to answer any questions about AI or ATC (or SIDs and STARs etc). Some nice eye candy though.

Well,
hmmm what can I say or better think..  For sure "we" ( read I ) should be happy a new MS sim is showing up, and for sure I am.
And there is certainly not a reason to be pessimistic of course, but I am hoping this will be more than a fancy shining diamond and adds more specific realism.

We can fill in that specific realism for ourselves like:
- Ai traffic
- Tubeliners
- ATC and SIDs/ STAR's
- equivalent of AFCAD

The reason I don't fly other simulators is their lack of that specific immersion, hence this is why I don't fly online
And if I watch those youtube vids the last 2 days, I am hoping this won't be a pure VFR related sim.
I would buy it right away of course, but the 2 thrills of using FSX for me are
- AI traffic and all the addiction that it drags me in ( thanks to this forum it is )
- The preparation of making an IFR flight and fly it in the sim.

I think ( counts on me personally ) I would not spend that much time in the sim when its " just " VFR.
But for the virtual bush flyers, this MS2020 is a gift from heaven.

I am curious by your thoughts
