VS & BA Su19 plans
« on: August 11, 2019, 03:36:56 AM »
With regards to the Summer 2019 flightplans for Virgin Atlantic and British Airways, will they include the new A350-1000 aircraft and routes?

Many thanks for all your hard work.

No. At least not BAW. It was delivered way after the sampled week. Remember that BAW won't start flying the first long haul routes until start September. Until then it will only fly on the MAD route. And those kind of flights are usually something flightplanners will try to avoid, simply because they feel a bit strange to have such a plane flying such a short route, and also because it usually only lasts about 3-4 weeks in total. But you can always add it yourself.

Also the high peak of the season is usually in mid-July, which is where the airlines are most busy. So making a plan for September and calling it one that can give the user an impression that this is what they flew all Summer ais a bit strange.

And for VS? Well. They just got the plane last night. And it will take at least some weeks before it's even flying routes. And that will be late in the season. So better hope for a Winter plan to get it. For BAW there is a Summer 2019 plan in beta right now. But maybe, because of the A350 there will be a Winter one too. But don't get the hopes too high. BAW is one AIG makes once a year because of its size.

Thanks for that detailed explanation Johan. Wasn’t sure which week would be sampled for SU19. Had my fingers crossed for mid September! But I will be more than happy with whichever week it is. Just grateful for all your guys hard work every season. Will look forward to plenty of A350 flights in SU20!!

Great work as always  ::cheers::

It seems that the 1st BA A350 is grounded since yeasterday due to an overspeed go around at Heathrow that damage flaps. Under maintenance or check at least.

well. We need more pictures to even get a decent paint. So give it some time. They will come, for sure. But don't except them today or tomorrow.
