Still Problems with KB4514359 and KB4515384

If KB4514359 dotNet updates is installed, I can no longer start AIG AI Manager. When I uninstall, it works again. KB4515384 makes my taskbar unusable, can´t write into search. Also Rex Skyforce 3D is affected by KB4514359. MAIW Matrix now doesn´t work without KB4514359.  :wild:

Correct. It's a Microsoft problem, not a AIG/AIM problem.

The only thing you can do is to uninstall the update or go back to a restore point from before you installed the update. That will fix it for now.

If it was a AIG/AIM problem, then would Skyforce and other programs work fine. But they don't so it's something in Windows 10. And since it only happened after an update, then it's the update that is wrong!

I´m not so sure about that it is Microsofts error. Don´t want to blame you, but it could just be dotNet is now more critical with the code. But there are bugs even breaking the use of the own taskbar  ::confused:: Dan

P.S. Lets wait another week for the updates.

If you want try something. Install the most recent DirectX 9 redistributable. People on the Prepar3d official forum were claiming that this approach got rid of all the errors.

Are you using Riva Tuner Statistics Server From MSI Afterburner? If so, then you need to reset the RTSS cache so it can find the new offsets to d3d9.dll.

I had this problem after the KB4514359 update.

Thank you for all hints on this. Now I got these updates uninstalled and reinstalled riva tuner and DX9. I can use most tools again.
Very annoying is microsofts support pages, where you almost can´t find out what they do about this problem. I also got the impression, the play it down, talking about very few users got problems. There is almost no way to find out if the fixed it but by running update in Windows and then get these  KB4514359 and KB4515384 installed again. :wild:
At the moment windows updates are stopped but you can only stop for a week.

For anyone using RTSS and having the d3d9.dll crash, it is a simple fix.

  • Show the RTSS app from your hidden task tray
  • At the bottom of the RTSS app window, click the setup button
  • Scroll to the bottom of the properties window and click the reset cache button
  • Click OK and you will be prompted to confirm the cache reset
  • RTSS will restart with the offsets to d3d9.dll set properly for the Windows update
  • I also suggest restarting MSI Afterburner

DirectX programs should now launch properly with RTSS running.
