IFR clearance, Taxi request etc are handled by default ATC on the normal airport frequencies.

If you are using the default ATC, you will get the ATC to call all the AI planes too.

I have tried some of those ATC programs, and for me personalty I'm always back to the default ATC, although it's not as "correct" regarding what is said. But at least it works for all planes, including your own. And the most important. It's built together with the AI, so it actually works 100% with the AI around you. The non-default ATC programs still can't live up to the standard that the default AI have regarding integration into the sim. Actually I think no ATC program will ever be able to do that.

I use EditVoicePack (the free version) to add various callsigns (Airlines) and plane types.

You can find most of them either on this forum, https://jcai.dk/ or Avsim.

Just make sure to avoid duplicates.

Also, Editvoicepack allows you to speed up the speech so that you can here more AI traffic. Mine is 33% faster, I believe.

I am an FSX user, EditVoicePack is available for FS9 to P3Dv5.
I have made several of my own voice mods for not common airlines.

Hi,

I am an FSX user.

For ATC of my plane I use RCV4 as it gives a far more accurate instructions e.g flying a SID/STAR, RNAV, VOR etc. approach/departure.

I leave the default ATC turned  up sufficiently to hear the default ATC.

The two major drawbacks I have found;
1. I have never managed to change ICAO codes e.g. FAJS to FAOR or add new airports e.g. FALE; and
2. RCV4 does not "talk" to the default ATC, more go arounds and told to line up with an AC on short finals. I turn on the transponder when approaching the runway and then line up after the landing plane, TO off clearance is only given by RCV4 after that plane has cleared the runway.

Nigel
