ATC Call-Sign Problem
« on: December 17, 2020, 02:31:35 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I hope I am in the right forum and someone can help with what appears to be a recent problem for me in P3Dv4. I will enter the conversation below.

ATC: 1057, Climb and maintain FL250
AI: FedEx 1057, Climb and Maintain FL250

Basically, the controller is not picking up the airline call sign which would normally mean the call sign is missing, but the AI (other voice) is!

I have not seen this problem before, usually if a call-sign is missing it will be missing for all voices or v.v. The problem is not just with FedEx.

I have updated my editvoicepack and the problem remains.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

are you using OCI?

I do have OCI installed but I don't generally use it as I usually install my flight plans manually. However, I did use it for a package last week so that I could obtain a AI model for P3dv4 that is only available as a download as part of a package (AIM ERJ145). Could OCI be the problem?

Ned,

Check OCI if you have the voicepak check box ticked  it will conflict with editvoicepack.  That said without posting your OCI logs (located in the same file folder as the program)doubtful Kai or Chris can diagnose if OCI did anything.

for OCI ATC file just check <Sim>\Sound\ATC

If there is a GVP file called something with "AIG" just remove it and you are fine ;)

As Kai said, you need to do two things.

  • Delete the USEnglishBigAIG.gvp file located in your Lockheed Martin/Prepar3d/Sound/ATC folder
  • Uncheck the box for Use ATC file in AIM|Tool|Settings|s|AIGAIM - OCI

The next time you use AIM, it will not create another USEnglishBigAIG.gvp file.

Many thanks for all your help and advice. I have done what you have recommended and so far I have not seen the problem repeated. :)
