You're all welcome...Remember, you learn something new everyday!! Actually, at first I didn't know it either but, since I've grown to love the ATR/Dash 8 Series, I've tried to learn as much as I can about them, even though I'm still not an expert. Just wanted to shed some light on this one, seems not many people know about the -400, it would be nice if she was also included in the upcoming models from FSNordic. But since I don't understand a word they write, I can;t explain it to them to let them know that the -400 Series also Exisits... But anyways...

One more question though, isn't there going to be a 212 model...
Again there is another difference between the -212 the -200 and the -212A/500...
If you need more explination on this on too, just let me know ;)

Hi, what is the difference between 212A and 212? is 212A actually the -500? is any difference between 212 and -200?

Well again, same as the ATR 42, the real difference is the engine, well in this case, the spinner.

American Eagle (Executive Air.) is the largest operator of the -212, or as it's also known by EXW as the Super ATR.

The -200 and the -500 (also known as the -212A) has the same engine and spinner but the -500 has 6 blades, and the -200 has 4 blades, and most of them have chrome "spinners" ;D in a matter of saying!! also the blades of the -200 have the same shape as the -300/320 and the blade shape of the -212/212A/500 have the same shape as the ATR 42-420/500. The -212 has the 4 blades and shaped like those of the -500, but the spinner is a little longer than the other versions. also the -200 may have different door configurations compared to the others.

American Eagle ATR 72-200,(never seen American Eagle actually fly this type but here is a picture, notice spinners)

American Eagle ATR 72-212 (look at the spinner, it's a little longer than normal spinners)

American Eagle ATR 72-212A/500 (six blades)

Hope this has informed you as well

Wow.  If the guy who is modelling these can read your posts better than you can read his, you've probably given him a whole load of new model variants..  ;D

Well I hope he does read it so that the right models can be made :P to me AI is supposed to inhance the FS world, make it more real. so the models should also represent the real world aircraft.

The ATR is kind of like the fokker 100 ;D to many variants, but one big difference is that the fokker didn't sell well, but the ATR does ;)
wow great to hear that the -200 and -500 are almost done, still hope he realises the difference so that the -212 and other "unknown" models can be modelled too.

Looking very sharp. The cockpit windows seem to look a little funky in this shot though? ??? http://www.fsnordic.net/discussion/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=82304.0;id=189796;image

I have never flown an ATR so I wouldn't know, but I just noticed that flaps are not in use in any of the t/o shots but seem to be on approach..  Is that normal  ???

If it's in all the shots then I guess it is normal. :P The Fokker jets often don't use flaps for takeoff too.

It's a real shame that the modeller is using the old-style non-textured windows. More poly heavy, and not as good visually. Same method as on the AIA 737-300 v1. Otherwise, looking great! Definitely an improvement on the PAI one..

I don't think the extra polygons used to create see through cockpit windows is going to affect performance to any level you would notice

No, but it seems like, well, a waste.
