Well...there's at least 2 versions of the Aardvark DC8..

You are right, but only for the DC-8-72 and DC-8-73, not for the classic series..

I would have loved to have an Aardvark classic DC-8-50, 60 series to go with those!!! :'(

The latest paintkit makes the AIA 767-300 look much better... Maik did a whole load of paints on it.

I concur. Paintkits can make a tremendous difference. Daniel Fall's F-50 paintkit is one good example, along with the tremendous work Darren Belanger does on some of those old PAI models etc.

Maybe in about one month, hasn't April 1st been the date for AIA to release new models during the last years?  ::party2::

I just read this thread and thought it would be a good opportunity to make a comment.

We did an analysis of some of the "older" models back in early 2008, one thing became clear very quickly was the accuracy of Craig Crawley's Aardvark 767's - comparing them directly with Boeing's 3D drawings - they are amazingly good. I am hard pressed to think how the model can be improved upon other than perhaps a extra LOD or two, XML, or the need for Winglets...things I am prepared to live without based on these excellent models that are now SIX years old !!!

There is another point to make in that there is an updated paintkit for the 763 and 762 that make some pretty nice improvements to the original. Look for 763 releases from Maik and Garry over the last 18 months, they have been making excellent use of it. There are no 762 paints yet available but I am sure there will be soon :-)

Keep hold and keep faith in your old AIA 767 models - they are excellent and easily stand the test of time.

Cheers
Brian

The AIA 767s might be good in a lot of ways but I personally like the AIM 762 a lot more. And I have to agree, the AIA 763 could use a replacement.

The 747's not that much.

I agree, the AM 767-200 is really gorgeous. I like the ARD 767-300, but it looks weird from certain angles and really sticks out when next to the new AI stuff released lately.

On the other hand, it would definitely be great with a makeover that added all the new bells and whistles and improved some of the curves. It would be a great base to launch from.

I really wish that AIM would have released the 763. It seems like the 762 was designed with expansion into the 763, as can be seen when looking at the texture or the PK. Too bad that it never came to be.  :'(

ARD=ai ARDvark
(I assume!)
Weren't the source files for the 767 lost in a HDD crash?

yeah, but that's not to say David doesn't have an older copy tucked away somewhere in a dusty corner of a hard drive, like the 757. Here's hoping anyway!

Where can you get these updated paintkits for AIA's B762 & 763? As for the topic, I don't think there's anything wrong with any of AIA's 767's.
