For those who do not live in the States, the <ding> is part of Southwest's advertising...<ding> You are free to move about the country.

Now the question, should we release a grounded flightplans?  :D
There's no reason to become alarmed, and we hope you'll enjoy the rest of your flight. By the way, is there anyone on board who knows how to fly a plane?

44 aircraft were affected.

5 were already in hangars undergoing heavy maintenance.

1 has been retired.

38 were grounded at the beginning of Wednesday's flight schedule.  By noon at least 4 were returned to service. By  8pm 28 aircraft were returned to service.

As of the beginning of the flight schedule on Thursday all aircraft were returned to service.

Standard media over-reaction.. it only took 90 minutes to inspect each aircraft.

To sum up..  Yes.. summer update is in the works!   ;)

Wow, I don't know how much faith I put on those inspections. It takes maintenance just 90 minutes to MEL a lightbulb sometimes. What could they possibly accomplish with 90 minutes in the hangar??? Smells like a pencil-whiped inspection to me.. ::)

Ding...feel free to bring a parachutte.. :o

Correction to the above.. 4 aircraft have been withheld from service pending repairs as a result of the inspections.

Inspections were NDI, checking eddy currents above and below where belts were placed around the passenger windows.
